MFA for VPN first time login or after Token Reset

1.        Open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone. If you already have a Sophos profile, tap on it.

2. When the new window opens, select the gear icon in the top right corner.

3. Select "Remove Account"

4. Close the Authenticator app


5. On your computer, navigate to https://utm.huntington.edu:4443

6. Type in your normal HU account information

7. A QR code should appear on the screen, if it does not, please contact the Help Desk

8. Back on your phone, open the Microsoft Authenticator app


9. Click on the "+" button in the top right corner, then choose "Work or school account" and then "Scan QR Code"

10. Scan the QR code on your computer screen with your phone

11. This should create a new Sophos profile on your phone, and you should see six digits that change every 30 seconds.

12. On your computer, open the Sophos Connect application.

13. Login using your normal HU account information, appending the six digits from the Microsoft Authenticator app to the end of your password. For example, if your password was 


N0rm1$BA3U


and the app showed the digits 


904153


Then you would type in


N0rm1$BA3U904153


In the password field.
