A restart will be required to allow a domain-joined (HU-owned) computer to update Papercut with a user's new password.
You will need to delete and update the credential for the print server on personal devices.
Windows:
- Go to Control Panel - Credential Manager - Windows Credentials
- Remove the item for Sarah
- Right-Click the Windows Start Button and select Run
- Enter \\sarah and click OK.
- Please wait a moment for the credential box to appear, you will need to enter your huntington.edu email address and password AND click the box for Remember My Identity. In some versions of Windows you may have to click More Choices in order to manually enter your email address.
- If the email address and password are correct, you Windows should open a new window with several printers. You do not need to reinstall the HUPrinter, simply close this Window.
- Your password for the print server has been successfully updated.
macOS:
- From the Finder menu bar at the top of the screen, select Go, then Utilities
- Double-Click Keychain Access
- From the Keychain Access sidebar on the left side of the window, select "login"
- In the upper-right corner, type Sarah into the search box and press Return
- Select any items with the name sarah and press the Delete key on your keyboard.
- Quit Keychain Access from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
- Click the Finder icon on your Dock
- From the Finder menu bar at the top of the screen click Go, then Connect to Server
- In the server address type smb://sarah/install and click Connect
- When prompted for your username and password, provide your HU email address and password, click the checkbox to remember this password in your keychain
- If successful, you should be presented a new window with folders for Mac and Win, you can simply close this Window.
- The password for Sarah should now be updated but you may see a "Hold for authentication" error when trying to print.
- Click the curved arrow icon next to this message to retry, macOS should ask you to enter a username and password, enter your HU username and password and click the checkbox to remember this password in your keychain to update the credential for the HUPrinter. Note: you may need to do this for each printer you use, including HUPrinter_Color.
Users may are required to update their credentials for the Papercut MF and PCClient applications after a password update on personal devices. In order to force Papercut to ask for a new username and password, delete the file in the following location and then launch papercut again from the Windows Start menu or macOS Applications folder:
Windows: 7/8/10: C:\Users\[username]\pc-client.properties
Mac: /Users/[username]/Library/Preferences/PCClient/config.properties
