Below are a few methods to try if you're having trouble getting your Wi-Fi to work.

Forget the Network (Windows)

  1. Click on the Wi-Fi icon and go to “More Wi-Fi Settings.”
  2. Click on “Manage Known Networks.”

  3. Select “Forget” for the network you would like to connect to.

  4. Go back to the previous screen and click “Show Available Networks,” and connect to the Wi-Fi by re-entering your HU credentials.

Forget the Network (Mac)

  1. Click on the Wi-Fi icon near the top right of the screen.

  2. Select “Wi-Fi Settings.”

  3. Click on the three dots for the network you are trying to connect to.

  4. Select “Forget this Network” and reconnect to the network using your HU credentials.

Restart the Computer

Restarting the laptop can resolve glitches or other issues that the device was unable to fix on its own.

Install Updates/Update Network Drivers (Windows)

  1. Go to Windows Update in Settings and click “Check for Updates.” Install any pending updates and restart if necessary.
  2. Next, go to a browser and search for “Dell Support.” Click on “Drivers and Downloads."
  3. If you haven’t already, download the Dell SupportAssist App. After installing and opening the app, you can install any Dell updates from the app.

  4. Another option is to return to the Dell Drivers and Downloads website and click on your computer model or enter your serial tag number.

  5. Click on Check for Updates on the following screen and follow the instructions to install any updates that your device needs. You may have to restart after your computer finishes installing the updates.

Reinstall the Network Driver (Windows)

  1. Click on the Windows Search Bar and go to Device Manager.
  2. Click on Network Adapters.
  3. If one of the adapters listed has a yellow triangle beside it, it indicates a driver issue. Click on the adapter that is experiencing the problem. If there are no problems, click on the adapter with “Wi-Fi” in the name.
  4. Select the red X icon that says, “Uninstall device.” Please note that if you are currently connected to any network, you will be disconnected.
  5. After the screen reloads, click on the computer icon that says “Scan for Hardware Changes.” The driver should reappear in the list. Try connecting to the Wi-Fi and see if the issue is resolved. If you do not notice any differences in your ability to connect to Wi-Fi, please restart your computer and check after the computer comes back on.
